About Us
Established in the United Kingdom, the Vine Memorial Old Girls Association is a group of dedicated old girls committed to supporting the mission of theVine Memorial Secondary School in Freetown, Sierra Leone
Our Association brings together alumnae from diverse backgrounds who are united by a shared passion for empowering young girls and bringing up positive change in the community and nation as a whole.
The association was formed by three passionate and dedicated alumnae, Mrs Katleen Kekura, Mrs Beatrice Scott-Boyle, and Mrs Helen Peters in the United Kingdom in January 2021.
The Association has been working tirelessly to support the Vine Memorial Secondary School since inception. Over the years, we can proudly say we have built a strong relationship with the school, administration, teachers, pupils, and our local alumni Association. We have been very instrumental in driving various initiatives to improve the learning environment for the betterment of the pupils.
Aims and Objectives
We strive to provide essential support to the Vine Memorial Secondary School, enabling the school to deliver quality education.
Promote the personal development of future generation of women leaders.
Through fundraising activities and sponsorship programmes, we aim to bridge the gap between funds and their needs, making sure that the pupils have access to educational opportunities, which is their right.
Fundraising
Here in the UK, we organise various fundraising activities to support the school, which includes:
- Thanksgiving Service
- Luncheon Sale
- Social Events
The above listed events not only raise vital funds but also help to create awareness about the school and its mission. We will forever be grateful to our life patrons, supporters, donors, volunteers, and association members who always contribute to our fundraising events.
